Throughout the growing phase, we are told to work on our qualities, such as confidence and self-esteem. By the time we become adults, we go through many struggles to build our self- esteem.
The traditional beliefs about attaining success have left us coveting what others have, measuring our success by material accumulation and possessions, and unclear about the full process of bringing forth our destiny. I suspect that due to the pursuit of success, more believers have ended up depressed, oppressed, and doubting themselves.
In the common world, people often overloaded with information and advice. It seems every corner you turn; someone is trying to tell you how to build awareness and self-determination. With all the advertisements and information is often hard to decide what you must listen to.
Be all you can be, but it's not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it's hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.
