Day 6 of 30 Day Credit Tips – How Often Should You Check Your Credit Reports
If you remember on Day 2 I explained where to go to get your credit reports for free each year on AnnualCreditReport.com.
I also discussed it might be wise to check your credit reports each quarter as credit reports contain a lot of inaccuracies. I would suggest that you check your credit reports between each quarter to twice per year.
Last year I decided that I would start checking my credit report twice a year and I was glad I did. I actually had another Tania Johnson’s public record on my credit report which scared the heck out of me.
I often wonder how long would that public record would have stayed on my credit report if I hadn’t decided to check my credit report more than once per year. How long had it been on my credit report and what did it affect? If this happen to me, how many other people have other individual’s records on their credit report?
For the questions above only I am committed to monitoring my credit reports at least twice per year. And I’m committed to helping others with their credit needs.
Use this as an example to become more diligent in monitoring your credit reports on a consistent basis.
